NEWS UPDATE April 29th

We are one week away from PZW’s next live event at Bully’s South Grandstand where PZW and the Movie Mill present ‘Goldrush!!’ Ticket prices: $7.50 each!! Wednesday, May 6th. Lethbridge, AB. Doors open at 6:30 and belltime is at 7:30.

It is official…’Cowboy’ Bryn Watts is the new majority owner of PZW. The majority shares that Stormbringer sold off were bought up exclusively by the Cowboy. When contacted by this website, Watts had this to say: “When I heard that Stormbringer was selling his shares and leaving PZW with his tail between his legs because of ‘personal issues’, I made a call. I made a call to a member of my family. ‘Cowboy’ Bill Watts, maybe you’ve heard of him? World famous promoter, inducted into the Hall of Fame at this year’s Wrestlemania? Yes…THAT ‘Cowboy’ Bill Watts. Anyways, I made the call and he had no problem wiring me the money that I used to buy up the majority shares in PZW. I run the show and I call all the shots. With the Canadian Dream by my side I will easily win this tournament and prove to the fans of PZW that their real champion and idol is me, ‘Cowboy’ Bryn Watts. Not Stormbringer!” Undoubtedly with the Cowboy as the new majority owner PZW has changed drastically, as fan who attended last live event could see. The major question though is this…is it for the worse?

We are one week away from PZW’s next live event at Bully’s South Grandstand where PZW and the Movie Mill present ‘Goldrush!!’ Ticket prices: $7.50 each!! Wednesday, May 6th. Lethbridge, AB. Doors open at 6:30 and belltime is at 7:30.

A new champion will be crowned on May 6th! The first seed of the tournament shall be ‘Cowboy’ Bryn Watts vs Travis Copeland. When contacted by this website, Travis had this to say: “I am so excited to be in this tournament! I’m even more excited for the fact that my first opponent in the tournament is Cowboy! Like all the fans in PZW, I take great exception to what Cowboy has said about my mentor, the Stormbringer. I don’t care that he is the new majority owner; I’m taking it to him. I will take all that Stormbringer has taught me and I’m sure I’ll come out on top. I already hold one pinfall victory over the Cowboy, in a match where Stormbringer and I took on Rampage. I took the Cowboy out, pinned him and got the 1, 2 and 3. With all that Cowboy has said about Stormbringer, it has really fired me up. Stormbringer is going through some personal issues and I’m doing my best to help him out with that. That’s all I will say on that. But on May 6th, I’m taking it to ‘Cowboy’ Bryn Watts and with the great fans of PZW behind me, I know I will win!”

The second seed of the tournament will be Brandon Van Danielson against ‘Ravenous’ Randy. Every time BVD has stepped into the ring he has shown that he is relentless, like an aggressive pitbull. BVD has shown that he will not step down from any opponent no matter their size. Like any pitbull, he may not start the fight but he sure as hell will end it. Any weaknesses his opponents may have, he exposes and exploits those weaknesses. ‘Ravenous’ Randy on the other hand, is a heavy crowd favourite. The fans of PZW have shown their love for the 'Mohawked One' time and time again. But even with the fans behind him, will it be enough for Randy to put down the vicious animal in BVD? Randy did win the ‘Fatal Four Way’ match at the last live event but this time he will be facing BVD one on one. You know that BVD will be utterly focused on the Ravenous one. But Randy has shown that he has what it takes and has scored some big wins in his time with PZW. Who will come out on top?

‘Cowboy’ Bryn Watts versus Travis Copeland and BVD versus ‘Ravenous’ Randy. Whoever wins their respective matches will face each other to become the new PZW Heavyweight Champion. Who will be the new champ?

We are one week away from PZW’s next live event at Bully’s South Grandstand where PZW and the Movie Mill present ‘Goldrush!!’ Ticket prices: $7.50 each!! Wednesday, May 6th. Lethbridge, AB. Doors open at 6:30 and belltime is at 7:30.

Adrian Walls will once again be facing ‘Beautiful’ Bobby this next live event. Their last match ended in a controversial count out due to Cowboy causing a distraction before Walls could use his ‘Lights Out’ maneuver. The two time former PZW Heavyweight Champion also has another reason to be angry with Cowboy. With Cowboy being in the tournament for the PZW Heavyweight title, Cowboy took a spot that rightfully belonged to Adrian Walls. Not only his Walls a former two time champion, he is number one in the rankings and deserves to be in this tournament. It is not hard to assume that Cowboy purposefully kept Walls out of the tournament so that Cowboy would have his spot. The main question is, will Walls have it in for Cowboy at the next live event? Also, based by his past actions, will Cowboy have it in for Walls when Walls once again goes one on one with ‘Beautiful’ Bobby?

One individual this website has recently taken note of is ‘Class Act’ Kevin Martel. Kevin Martel has gotten quite an impressive record already in PZW considering not only his dominant performance in the ‘Hell Before the Bell’ match last live event but also in other ‘Hell Before the Bell’ matches. Even though he hasn’t wrestled on the main card yet, what does the future hold for this young superstar? Could he possibly be a dominant force within PZW sometime in the near future? This next live event, ‘Class Act’ Kevin Martel will be in action once again in the ‘Hell Before the Bell’ match. To all PZW fans, be there before the opening bell to see if anyone else will fall victim before Martel…or is it just luck?

‘The Assassin’ Chase Patrick will be in action on May 6th and he will be taking on none other than the high flying member of the Party Animals, Chucky Blaze. The Assassin has shown time and time again that he has no regard for any official in PZW. His senseless beatings on Ref Shaggy over the last two live events have shown the lack of respect that he holds over all the officials. Yet through his ruthlessness, he has shown that he has a plan and the intelligence that he has used to carry out this plan is not only impressive but damn scary at the same time. He was able to goad Mattias Wild into standing up for the officials of PZW, for Ref Shaggy. The Assassin was able to convince Wild to put his ‘Guaranteed PZW Heavyweight Title Match’ contract on the line. Mattias Wild ended up falling for the Assassin’s plan and Chase Patrick has become the new holder for that contract. Not only does this website wonder what the Assassin has in store for young Chucky Blaze, but this website has to also wonder who he has an eye on for winning the tournament at the next show. Chucky Blaze definitely has plenty in store for himself at the next live event. Even though he is young, he has shown incredible heart and resiliency. His arsenal of high flying death defying moves often leaves the PZW fans speechless and in awe. Last live event, Chucky was able to outsmart Mayhem! and got the pin over on TBone. He has momentum, but is it enough to put away the Assassin?

On May 6th, a new champion will be crowned. Who will make it the finals? Out of ‘Cowboy’ Bryn Watts, Travis Copeland, Brandon Van Danielson and ‘Ravenous’ Randy, who will be champion? The main event will feature two of these individuals. Considering both competitors will have wrestled once already, will fatigue be a factor? Will Cowboy somehow leverage his way into the finals and possibly be the new PZW Heavyweight Champion? The richest prize in Canadian Wrestling is on the line on May 6th! Who will be the new champion?

PZW April 15 2009 Results

PZW Results April 15, 2009
“For Sale by Owner”

Sorry it took so long to get these posted but I’m going to try a different format today with quick results then giving my opinions on the match after the results.

Hell before the bell: Kevin Martel beat Evan Andrews

Beautiful Bobby and Adrian Walls fought to a time limit draw

Crosse beat Alex Gallagher

Chase Patrick beat Ref Shaggy

Chucky Blaze beat T-Bone

Ravenous randy beat Brandon van Danielson, Cowboy Bryn Watts & Travis Coupland in championship preview fatal four way match.

Kevin Martel vs. Evan Andrews was a faced paced quick opener that featured some great wrestling and continued to show “The Class Act” Kevin Martel is nicely becoming a main player in PZW.

Beautiful Bobby Vs Adrian Walls was a great physical contest with some very entertaining parts of the match as well. Bobby continues to show he is a sick freak. Adrian Walls getting screwed out of the tournament by Bryn Watts just makes the situation more appealing as I for one cat wait to see the former most hated man in PZW go against the new most hated man in PZW.

Crosse vs. Alex Gallagher proved having the owner on your side is always a plus but Crosse doesn’t need it and he showcases his great ring wrestling to secure a win and save his proclamation that he will never be pinned in a PZW ring ever again. Alex Gallagher continues to show why he is one of the most popular guys in PZW.

Chase Patrick vs. Referee Shaggy had some solid wrestling by both competitors and shows why Shaggy should make the jump to wrestling full time and give up wrestling. The inexperience factor of Shaggy came in to play for The Deadly Assassin to strike and take the win with his PZW title shot contract.

Chucky Blaze vs. T-Bone this match showed why Chucky is one of the most exciting wrestlers to watch in wrestling as you never know what he will do each match and that T-Bone couldn’t get the luck of having his tag partner as owner as Party Animals can overcome any obstacle no matter what consequences it may bring later.

The four way featuring the four men that will compete for the PZW title next show was an amazing match that featured everything from great wrestling to hardcore wrestling that spills out all over the arena, to some great entertaining moments and showcasing why these four men deserve to compete for the title. Ravenous Randy will be the next big superstar to make it in the big leagues.

All in all this was a great event by PZW and cant wait to see what the exciting changes of the new owner bring to Power Zone Wresting and what May 6 will bring to change the future of PZW.

Wresltemania Weekend in Houston part two

5:00pm Axxcess finished and it was time to make way into the Reliant Stadium on my in I managed to find some program dealers and buy a Wrestlemania program as in Axxcess they were sold out and didn’t want to miss not getting one, I then proceeded through the ticket gate which didn’t have that long a line because the gates opened while I was in Axxcess, I made the trek up the ramp to the doors to the entrance and realized I came in the wrong entrance and had to walk through the stadium to the other side in order to get down to where my seats were. Once I got to my section I walked onto the stands and was immediately in awe to see the giant Wrestlemania set and ring in front of me and then walked down the stands to my seats on the floor not all that far from the ring and which included my seat on the end of aisle so I could get up and move around the side in order to get a good view once everyone stood up for the excitement. I had a bout half and hour before any action started so I managed to get some food and just hang around my seats until at about 5:30pm when Lillian Garcia made her entrance and announced the ECW announce team to call the preshow bonus tag title unification match which was a great match then after the match after the wrestlers made their way to the back Goof Ole Jim Ross, Michael Cole and The King made their way out and got set up for the “Granddaddy of the All” to officially kick off and be underway. The firework display was awesome to start the show and Nicole from the Pussycat dolls did and amazing job singing America the Beautiful. The money in the bank was a great way to kick off the show and it was another great money in the bank match wit lots of high risk insane stuff. Kid Rock then came out to sing a medley of a number of his hit songs which was really good and had the crowd rocking featuring the entrance of the divas for the battle royal next. The battle royal was your typical battle royal but it was nice to see the past divas in the WWE again and Santino… I mean Santina was really entertaining it was a cool way to finish the battle royal and defiantly sets up a interesting angle to come. The whole event was beyond awesome make sure to check out the pictures I have on face book. The Undertaker Vs. Shawn Michaels match was really awesome to see live I cant wait to see it on DVD as these two put on a 30 minute classic that had people on their feet and going crazy the whole match cheering for both men the electricity was amazing. Seeing Mickey Rourke get in the ring and mess around with Jericho was cool to see as well as seeing The Dragon go again Ricky Steamboat was awesome he never missed a beat considering he hasn’t wrestled in over 10 years. Stone Cold coming out for one more beer bash was a special moment. John Cena is super strong as seeing him pick of Big Show and Edge at the same time in attempt to give both men the “Attitude Adjuster” at the same time and win his next World title. The main even between HHH and Randy Orton was a very physical old school match that really pushed the envelope without having to add the no disqualification factor to the match.

The Spectacle of the whole weekend was amazing with some great wrestling from Wrestlemania and Ring of Honor and a special night in the Hall of Fame Ceremony as well as some hands on activity from Axxcess made for an extremely good time and a weekend I will never forget and will differently do again as well as go to other WWE pay per views, live events and ROH shows. I cant wait to get all these shows on DVD and recommend to anyone that has not seen these events to order in the DVD’s and watch them because all the wrestlers were top notch and check out the many picture I posted on face book and if you don’t have me as a friend make sure to add me (Craig Crusher Usher) and check out the pictures.

Wow this concluded my longest blog and really sums up and excellent weekend.

Wresltemania Weekend in Houston part one

Wrestlemania Weekend in Houston Texas

Well Friday April 3, 2009 I arrived in Houston at just after 4pm got through the airport and found a cab to take me to my hotel to check in and then get in another cab to go down to the George R. Brown Convention Center where I arrived at 6pm to catch the last two hours of the Booker T Legends of Wrestling fan fest going on with legends and present stars signing autographs and merchandise dealers set up like Highspots.com selling merchandise.

I got my passes and go to meet great legends and receive autographs and pictures in what was truly a class act show put on and all the legends were extremely professional and made sure they signed everyone’s autographs and posed for pictures even if it meant having to come back after they packed up and left. The list of legends I met mere some of my all time favourites like Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Booker T, Jimmy Hart and the Nasty Boys, Kimberly Page and master of the Diamond Cutter DDP Diamond Dallas Page. I also got me current favourites and stars like former TNA and ROH world champion Samoa Joe and TNA Knockout and WWE Diva search winner the beautiful Christy Hemme. All is all it was a great experience and fun time and a great way to start off an incredible weekend.

After the convention ended at about 8pm I went up to the third floor of the convention center and took in the first of two Ring Of Honor shows this weekend with the first being their big “Supercard of Honor 4” show, I have never been to an ROH show live but I have purchased a number of their DVD’s to know what their wrestling was like but being at an live ROH show is a great experience the crowd was extremely passionate about the product and very respectful of all in ring wrestlers. The ROH show had everything thing from young up and coming wrestlers just starting out in dark matches to world class wrestlers from all over the world, to former WWE or TNA stars to some memorable legends still making rounds, like Bushwhacker Luke was there who I was extremely excited to see as I was always a Bushwhacker fan and even Kamala was there as well with legendry manager Chi and they preformed in the ring and posed for pictures and signed autographs with fans during the intermission. I would really recommend anyone to order this |DVD when it comes out as I know I will because there is a awesome match of the year candidate featured as Davey Richards took on GHC Jr. Heavyweight champion Kenta in a title match that had everything in the match from great fast paced high flying action to fantastic mat wrestling in a match that led the crowd in “F*ck Wrestlemania” , “This is Awesome” and the classic “ROH” chants and left everyone in the building standing and giving both men a standing ovation as Davey Richards proclaimed this is what Ring of Honor is about. There was many other great matches as well and the night was caped off with a special moment as Jerry Lynn managed to beat current ROH champion Nigel McGinnis in another classic match to become the new ROH world Champion and earn a standing ovation for Lynn followed by a very heartfelt speech by Lynn who truly deserved another World Title reign.

The next day Saturday was filled with more wrestling all day again as I was back at the George R. Brown Convention center for another afternoon of Ring Of Honor wrestling and their second show of the weekend with a pay per view taping of ROH’s “Take no Prisoners” upcoming pay per view. Again ROH had another solid night of wrestling that you must see caped off by Jerry Lynn’s first title defence and another match of the year candidate tag team match featuring Kenta and Tyler Black verses Katsuhiko Nakajima and Austin Aries in a match you must see because it was incredible.

After the ROH show it was time to take the short walk over the Toyota Center because the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2009 ceremony was about to begin in an hour. I arrived at the Toyota center to find people everywhere crowed in front the building and all around the arena with having to get in the line by joining some people on the street (which was not closed off so cars were driving by in behind) it was then we were let in to the Toyota to where I found my seat seating in the stands directly in front of the stage and by seeing that was just awe inspiring. Todd Grisham came out shortly to welcome everyone and remind everyone that there was to be no cat calls or shouting at any wrestlers during the show out of respect to the legends. Todd then announced that the WWE superstars and families would be filling into their seats right away and out first was Vicky Guerrero and her daughters to a great reaction of applause and cheers from the respectful crowd other notable names were current stars Great Kali who is huge when you see in live, Sgt. Slaughter, Molly Holly, John Cena, Edge (who received loud boos), Jeff Hardy, the McMahon’s, a surprise appearance by DDP who the crowd loved to see and many more legends, past & current stars who could fill a page with just names. The show then got started and was hosted by Todd Grisham and featured a countdown clock behind me on the back wall for timing of speeches. Out first was Dusty Rhodes doing the American Dream dance to induct Terry and Dory Funks who each gave speeches. Out next was Honky Tonk Man to induct Koko B. Ware with Frankie who kept trying to eat Koko’s speech and even manage to leave a little present on the podium for the other legends. Next up was Michael P.S. Hayes to induct the Von Erich family with surviving member Kevin Von Erich to accept and give a speech. Mene Gene was out next to induct long time WWE employee and legendary ring announcer (and only ring announcer to be inducted to Hall of Fame) Howard Finkle to the hall of fame where “The Fink” proudly gave himself a great introduction into the Hall of Fame. Good Ole JR Jim Ross was out next to a great reaction from having Boomer Sooner played in Texas to induct his mentor Cowboy Bill Watts into the Hall of Fame. Todd came out again to announce a short break and that the TV portion of the show would be starting soon and announce that Hall of Famer Jerry “King” Lawler would be hosting the TV portion and then the TV introduction was shown a highlight package of all hall of famer’s past and present was shown Lawler welcomed us to the TV portion and brought out “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair to induct Ricky Steamboat into the Hall of Fame where Flair gave a great speech that went to commercial break and then Flair did the speech again because of the timing from all the “Whoooo!” chants from the crowd and then out came Ricky Steamboat who gave a really emotional speech and even mentioned Mickey Rourke in the crowd. Jerry Lawler then brought out Mene Gene again to recap and then back from commercial Lawler showed a simulation from the Legends of Wrestlemania game showing HBK vs. Undertaker and then introduced Vince McMahon who came out next to induct ``Stone Cold” Steve Austin into the Hall of Fame and call Austin the greatest WWE superstar ever. Stone Cold them came out to huge reaction and a long “Thank you Austin” chant before he started very heart felt speech and followed by a Hall of Fame style beer bash and was joined by the entire class of 2009 to take in the applause from the crowd one more time. All in all it was great show and truly memorable seeing all those deserving legends take their spot in history.

Now on to Sunday April 5 I got down to Reliant Stadium and Center at about noon and walked around at some of stuff they had set up outside like merchdise tables and the army national guard set up and then proceeded to the line for Wrestlemania Axxcess session starting at 1pm and I was glad I had VIP tickets as the general admission line was huge as well as for being VIP you got a wrist band that allowed you to skip lines for the booths except the superstar signings and get ringside access to the ring and a random autograph from a WWE superstar which I got Edge who is one of my favourite stars ever so that was cool. Inside was set up really cool and the first attraction I went to see was to step inside the Hell in Cell and get in side the ring which was intimidating also under the ring was Hornswoggle’s house set up, he’s got a nice setup under there, I then went to look at my personal favourite set up as it was the classic memorabilia display which had lots of old legends ring where and many other classic memorabilia, I hit up the merchandise stand next to get me a Wrestlemania 25 jersey and ECW title belt replica because everything was selling out quick. (Those title belts are heavy). I got in the line next to see ECW star Tyson Kidd and get my picture and autograph with him next and then watched our host for the night Jimmy Hart perform different tasks in the ring. Also signing there that I saw was Cryme Tyme, Candice Michelle, Hacksaw Jim Duggen, Ron Simmons, Afa of the wild Samoans and Tito Santana and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine. Other attractions were a bunch of old title belts to take pictures off and have you picture taken with the World title, WWE action figure packages to have you picture in, WWE diva picture set with the woman’s title, call a match with Josh Mathews, create your own entrance, and a very cool Undertakers graveyard showing his 16 Wrestlemania victims and various caskets used from various casket matches in WWE history and you could also have you picture take next to Shawn Michaels Wrestlemania grave. Valadmir Koslov also beat Festus in match with Jesse and Mr. Kennedy did a live Q & A session in the ring. Wrestlemania Axxess was a great afternoon of excitement with lots of great attractions.
